Nexia, a global network of accounting and consulting firms, has added new member firms in Gabon and Kenya.

The London-headquartered network currently boasts nearly 260 member firms in 122 countries across the globe. Nexia grew its revenues by 7% last year to reach well over $4 billion, and has continued its expansion through this year despite the global economy’s struggle with Covid-19.

Gabon-based accounting and legal firm Caudexco joined the network back in March this year, adding three partners and ten professionals to Nexia’s network. The firm specialises in a range of financial and legal services, including accounting, reporting, risk management and taxation, among several others.

“Our firm is going to benefit from the experience and professionalism of Nexia member firms. Being part of Nexia International will allow our firm to bid on international tenders with other members of the network, implement a rigorous quality approach for network monitoring alongside contributing to the global reach of the network,” said Caudexco Managing Partner Gaston Roger Anguile Ntoke.

More recently, Nexia has added Nairobi-based audit, tax, accounting and consulting firm Nexia SJ Kenya to its network. Four partners join Nexia’s global network as a result, bringing with them expertise in tax, internal audits, legal services, business process outsourcing and audit services, among others.

“The benefits we look forward to are the international network helping us gain more business in Kenya – with Kenya being the hub for East Africa – and being able to collaborate with other Nexia firms for opportunities outside of the country as well as with specialised services. Lastly, we look forward to joining Nexia webinars and training programmes to help us keep up to pace with the accounting industry,” said founding partner at the Kenyan outfit Sujata Jaffer.

East Africa is a hub for growth on the continent, and Jaffer indicated that Nexia’s new presence in Kenya will act as a base for its member firms across Africa to find business and support clients. The firm is competing in an increasingly fierce accounting environment across Africa, with ever-increasing international interest in the region.
