BDO appoints Joel Owusu-Boakye as partner in Accra office

BDO has strengthened its business in Ghana with Joel Owusu-Boakye, who has joined the firm’s leadership team.

The new partner brings over eighteen years of audit, assurance and financial advisory to BDO. He joins from AA&K Chartered Accountants, a boutique firm in Accra, where he was a Director. He previously also worked for another Big Four firm in Ghana, where he rose to the position of a Manager.

Owusu-Boakye has extensive experience in providing audit, assurance, and advisory services to clients in various areas such as banking and capital markets, insurance, mining, oil & gas, consumer products, shipping, logistics, as well as the public sector.

With a main focus on supporting statutory audits, Owusu-Boakye has also facilitated improvements in financial statement reporting, supported deals with transaction advisory and due diligence, and conducted business reviews that have resulted in financial savings in the public sector. Outside of Ghana, he has worked with clients in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Belgium, South Africa, and Togo.
