Robert Taiwo new managing director of Phillips Consulting

Nigerian firm Phillips Consulting has begun setting up its 25-year vision, the first step coming in the form of a new Managing Director. Robert Taiwo, who has nearly two decades of experience in consulting, is the new man in charge, effective from the 6th of November 2017.

Founded in 1992 in Lagos, Phillips Consulting (PC) has emerged as a prominent management consulting firms with operations stretching across the African continent. Through its headquarters in Lagos and its other locations in Johannesburg and Abuja, the firm offers support with change management through customer-focused strategies.

The firm operates through strategic partnerships with firms across Africa, as well as abroad in Europe and North America. Specifically, the firm’s areas of expertise lie in corporate performance management, surveys and diagnostics, strategy development and market research.

Now, in keeping with the firm’s 25-year vision to consolidate their presence on the continent, they have appointed Robert Taiwo as their new Managing Director. Taiwo has an illustrious educational background, having completed Bachelors in Law with Honours from the University of Bedfordshire, and an MBA in Strategy and Change from the prestigious Warwick Business School.

Taiwo began his professional career as Head of Business Services at Commerzbank AG in London, where he remained for seven years, ascending through the position of Senior Global Programme Manager for Securities, eventually rising to Head of Strategic Projects at the firm. At the bank, Taiwo developed extensive change management strategies, both internally and externally.

From Commerzbank AG, Taiwo went on to become Senior Manager at Capgemini Consulting, operating out of their UK office. At Capgemini, Taiwo worked with a range of clients, including FTSE 100 companies, international organisations, as well as central government departments.

Since then, Taiwo has held two senior level positions at consulting firms, first as Director of Strategy and Transformation at Whitespace Advisory in the UK, and subsequently as Programme Director at Diageo in Nigeria. At PC, he will lead daily operations for the firm, alongside being responsible for the execution of strategy.
