Andersen Global adds consulting firm in Uganda to network
US-based professional services firm Andersen Global has continued its expansion into the African consulting market with a new presence in Uganda, through a partnership with local legal firm Ligomarc Advocates. The new collaboration offers Andersen a fourth local presence on the African continent.
Having evolved from the renowned Andersen Tax practice, Andersen Global is a California-based consulting firm, operational since 2013. Over the five-year period, the firm has grown into a truly global entity, spreading out to 84 locations across the world, operating with more than 2,500 professionals.
Alongside a strong devotion to independence and seamless transformations, the firm is committed to constructing a global character, as is evident from its name. Building on this commitment, the firm has been increasingly expanding in Africa over the last few years, entering into the Nigerian, Kenyan, and Tanzanian markets.
Now, the firm has expanded further across the continent, through a strategic collaboration with a Ugandan law firm by the name of Ligomarc Advocates, based in Kampala. Specialising in financial and corporate law, Ligomarc employs some of the leading legal minds in the country, including prominent names in financial law such as Joshua Odoc Ogwal and Olivia Kyarimpa Matovu.
The firm offers services to individuals and corporations alike, spanningthe domains of insolvency, banking, corporate governance, energy and mining, insurance, regulatory compliance, and even tax advisory services such as pricing and reorganisation. Currently, the firm is led by Managing Partner Kabiito Karamagi.
Commenting on the partnership, Karamagi said; “Integrity, excellence, and putting the client at the center have always been of paramount importance to us, and our collaboration with Andersen Global will allow us to ensure our clients receive the best-in-class service internationally. The team at Andersen shares our values of outstanding, seamless client service and independence – this is a natural fit.”
Meanwhile, Global Chairman and CEO of Andersen Tax, Mark Vorsatz said; “This collaboration positions us to provide even more comprehensive solutions to clients and expanded coverage in Africa, particularly in the Eastern region. Ligomarc was a very easy choice, and the culture and chemistry with our new colleagues is extremely positive. We expect to continue building our platform in Africa quickly over the course of the next few years and I am very optimistic about the outstanding team we are putting together in Africa as we continue to add key practices and leadership.”
The team will hope to capitalise on a growing investment market in Africa, particularly as foreign firms seek to strategise their entry into local African markets.
