Zenera Consulting’s Cancer Walk to mark its fifth anniversary in operation has proved a success, having secured participation from a number of prominent celebrities in Nigeria, including famous Nollywood actor Yomi Fash-Lanso and Mr. Universe Nigeria 2018 Allison Nelson.

Late last month, Lagos-based advertising and brand management consultancy Zenera Consulting announced that it would mark its fifth anniversary in operation with a Cancel Walk with the theme of Hope Beats Cancer, organised in collaboration with the Lakeshore Cancer Centre and Inspiration FM.

Other partners for the event included Roding Healthcare Limited, Federal Road Safety Corps, with additional support from Indoor Designs, Westbrand Nigeria, Strategic Effects and Garden Splash. The event took place earlier this month and proved to be a tremendous success.

The event garnered widespread public attention, primarily due to the attendance of illustrious celebrities, including television personality Denrele Edun, music producer Tee-Y Mix, as well as musician Aramide, who has had personal experience with the disease.

“My uncle died from cancer, and it was really painful. More than anything else, this walk organised by Zenera Consulting presents a good opportunity to actually show some support,” she said, adding some advice in public interest. “If you feel anything strange in your body, go and get it checked out and take your health seriously, and whatever happens just keep hoping.”

Commenting on the success of the event, Managing Partner at Zenera Consulting Meka Olowola said, “As we clock five as an organisation, we found a way to use our edge in branding for a good cause and cancer came as a valuable knowledge point for us considering the low level of awareness in Nigeria.

“What people don’t know is that there are four screenable forms of cancer. You can do something about prostate, breast, colon and cervical cancer. When you detect them early enough, they are treatable and completely curable,” he added.

Zenera Consulting was established in 2013, and has done well to establish itself in the Nigerian market. The firm is based in Lagos, but also holds an international presence in London, through an office that it opened in May last year. The firm has also grown in terms of service offerings, having expanded from a PR agency to incorporate management consulting services.
