Deloitte to help organise Ghana CEO Summit on the future of the economy
Big Four professional services firm Deloitte is among the list of organisers for this year’s Ghana CEO Summit that is to be held in Accra next week. Other organising partners include Olam, SAP Africa, the Ministry of Business Development and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
The theme of the summit for this year is ‘The Futuristic Economy: Technology-Driven Future of Business and Governance for Economic Transformation.” The focus addresses a number of key factors that are driving Ghana’s economy currently, both in the private and public sectors.
Economies across Africa are in the process of digitalising, particularly as an increasing number of people gain internet access. Ghana is among the most prominent and politically stable economies in the continent, and is one of the primary drivers of growth for the region of West Africa.
The government and private sector alike have touted Ghana’s domestic small and medium enterprises sector as the potential driver for the country’s economic growth. The summit looks to address how an environment of innovation and collaboration can be created to facilitate this growth.
The summit – organised in collaboration with Deloitte – will be structured around expert analysis and thoughts from some of the country’s business leaders, in addition to presentations of case studies and executive level panel discussions. The summit also features an award ceremony that looks to highlight best practices in the country.
The event will be attended by the Vice President of the country Mahamudu Bawumia, who is the special guest. Other attendees will include the Chief Executives of some of the most illustrious enterprises in the country, in addition to a number of senior officials from the government.
Commenting on the event, Founder and CEO of the Ghana CEO Summit Ernest De-Graft Egyir said, “This unique top-tier thought leadership platform will enable the private sector in Ghana and Africa engage in thought-provoking discussions, network, exchange experiences, explore business opportunities and broker partnerships.”
