Mercer strikes partnership with Zimbabwe based consulting firm Advisory K
Five months after entering a strategic partnership with Nigeria-based human resources firm EZ37, consulting firm Mercer has continued to consolidate its position on the continent with another partnership, this time with Advisory K in Zimbabwe. The partnership will focus on talent management, data-driven solutions and insights.
Global technology-driven consultancy Mercer has taken yet another step towards consolidating itself in the African consulting market, following months of expansion efforts in the region. Mercer, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, has a presence in 44 countries and conducts operations in over 130 countries through 22,000 employees.
Late last year, the firm established a hub for its business across Francophone Africa in Casablanca, Morocco, which is currently a lucrative market for consulting, particularly in the public sector. Following this entry into the African ecosystem, the firm quickly made a foray into Nigeria, which is Africa’s largest market, through a strategic partnership with EZ37 Solutions; a Human Resources firm based in the capital city Lagos.
Now, two months later, the firm has made its way into the economically vibrant market in Zimbabwe, through another strategic partnership, this time with Advisory K based in Harare. Primarily a business advisory firm, Advisory K offers services in strategy, organisation, people and talent management, research and analytics, as well as executive talent searches.
Within these broad service categories, the firm offers solutions in organisational design and restructuring, strategy formation, market analysis, economic reviews, customer analytics, and a number of other specialised practices. Mercer, on the other hand, provides a range of services of a similar character, spanning the domains of risk, strategy, and people.
The global firm categorises its offerings into health and benefits, wealth and investments, workforce and careers, and mergers and acquisitions. Through the new partnership, Mecer will hope to develop its talent management and data-driven capabilities, boosted by the established clientele and local expertise of Advisory K.
Commenting on the partnership, CEO of Mercer in Africa, Peter Botha said, “We are honoured to partner with such a leading and reputable player in the local market, we are excited about the broad knowledge this partnership will bring to help Zimbabwean organisations thrive in HR management and workforce performance.”
Ethel Kuuya, Managing Director at Advisory K added; “As a recognised representative of Mercer in Zimbabwe, we are well poised and committed to strengthening and expanding the provision of leading organisation solutions to all sectors in Zimbabwe. This partnership is timely as organisations at large are in a transformational spirit, and further extends our capacity to meet demand and enhance bespoke change solutions to our valued clients.”
